THE PITCH
NOTTINGHAM is more than another retelling of the Robin Hood legend, it's a reinvention of the classic story, tailored towards the post-MTV generation. And as one of the most popular rogues in literary and film history, the character is perfect for an action-packed and stylistic translation into the modern day world. In the spirit of the original ballads, this is a hyper-real action film filled with shoot-outs, fast cars, and hot women. You've never seen Robin Hood like this!
SYNOPSIS
Former street racing champion ROBIN LOCKSLEY was just discharged from a tour of duty in Iraq. But when he returns home to the oceanfront city of Nottingham, instead of a warm welcome from his family, he finds a crime scene... his mother and brother have just been brutally gunned down in a gang slaying. The more Robin searches for answers, the more he learns how things have changed in his absence. Robin's own former crew has disbanded, leaving the neighborhood of Sherwood to become the playground of Robin's former street racing rival, Gisbourne, and his gang, the Foresters.
Against the advice of his friend WILL SCARLET, Robin goes to a wild renaissance rave in an abandoned theme park to confront Gisbourne. The confrontation results in a brawl and hot pursuit that leaves Robin at the top of the most wanted list.
Now a fugitive on the run from the vicious SHERIFF OF NOTTINGHAM, Robin decides that the only way to fight Gisbourne is to put his old crew back together. One by one, we meet the Merry Men: A.D. became a famous musician who left Sherwood and moved to ritzy Nottingham Hills; fledgling thief MUCHO is still scalping tickets at Nottingham's Sports Arena; and "LITTLE" JOHN and sister CLORINDA work repairing cars for the Nottingham Coach taxi company.
Unbeknownst to Robin, the city's MAYOR has his own plans for the neighborhood of Sherwood: a new expensive urban redevelopment project that will earn him millions in revenue. All he needs to do is get the residents to move out, a goal which Gisbourne is more than happy to help him accomplish.
As Robin and his Merry Men begin to interfere with Gisbourne's attempts to victimize the neighborhood, the people of Sherwood begin to take notice. Soon, Robin is more than the Sheriff's public enemy number one... he has become a folk hero and media sensation. The Sheriff realizes that he must be dealt with and, with Gisbourne's help, concocts a trap to snare him... the fabled (and highly illegal) Harbor Run road race.
Robin shows up at the race in disguise, but when he wins, the Sheriff and his men swoop in to arrest him. With Robin finally behind bars, Gisbourne and the Foresters move into Sherwood and go on a final rampage. But the destruction only makes the remaining Merry Men all the more resolved to rescue their comrade, and they break him out of jail.
With the help of the Mayor's rebellious daughter MAID MARIAN, Robin decides to pull off the most daring heist yet, right under the Mayor's nose in his own home during his biggest fund-raiser of the year. Robin and the Merry Men return the money to its rightful owners and put a stop to the victimization of the neighborhood.
